Mike Knight began experiencing symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis in 1994. He was misdiagnosed with the disease in 1997, and positively diagnosed in 2013. In 2016, Knight “retired” from Central Indiana Community Foundation due to MS related disability at the age of 56.
Working as a freelance journalist and writer, Knight contributed to multiple magazines and publications read by millions of people around the world. He served as a communications professional for area non-for-profits. Currently, he is a contributor to Momentum magazine, a publication of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He also contributes to his website "Mike Knight Writes" that shares his story of living with MS. WFYI featured Mike’s story in 2020 of navigating life, MS, and covid-19.
Knight has been married to his incredible wife Michelle since April 1986. He was an avid runner and biker. From 2014 to 2019, Knight practiced Pilates. Together, the couple loved to travel, kayak, canoe and play tennis together.
Mike and Michelle Knight will be joining the IN Cure of MS Gala on June 18th at the Biltwell Event Center to share his story.
